Steve Perry Personal Life
It is well known to everybody that steve perry had a very hard life, he once talked about things from his childhood that happens to every kid still disturbs him as an adult.
Steve as known is not married, he had a daughter when he was in his 20s, her name is Shamilla and she has children, she mostly stays out of the limelight and steve also doesn’t discuss much about her in order to protect her and his grandchildren.
In the year 1987, Steve had to leave Journey due to his hip replacement surgery.
In the 1980s Stephen dated Sherrie Swafford which was followed by a painful heartbreak, on this, he wrote the song ” Oh Sherrie”, in 1984.
Following this, on December 4 Steve’s mother passed away, she was diagnosed with a serious neurological illness, which affected Steve’s career and personal life to a large extent.
In 2011, he dated Kellie Nesh who was a psychologist, she battled breast cancer for a very long time but died in December 2012.

Steve started producing music and singing when he was in his 20s, he first started a band called Ice with Scott Mathews who at that time was 16.
Steve is truly unmatchable and known to produce vocals that are rare and hard, it is almost impossible to match Steve’s vocals in his songs
In 1972, Ice recorded in record plant studios after it came where to the city where they started, Sacramento, and disbanded.
Following this disbandment, Steve moved from place to place and formed and joined bands like Pieces and Alien project, and auditioned for the band Captian Beyond, but all of it ended unsuccessfully and Steve almost left music.
Due to his mother’s urging Steve finally got back to music and answered a call from Walter Herbert who was managing a struggling band, Journey.
Steve Perry got into the band Journey and replaced Robert Fleischman who wasn’t an official member, to avoid conflict steve was disguised as someone’s Portugal cousin.
He was announced by Herbert as the new lead singer of Journey on a tour.
Steve has sung and provided lead vocals on nine of Journey’s albums- Evolution, Dream, After Dream,
The single “Open Arm” from the album Evolutions charted at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Steve left the band in 1987 due to his hip replacement surgery but reunited with them but only worked for 1995-1998.
Steve continued to produce hits in the following years but as a solo artist and returned to music after two decades with his album “Traces” dedicated to his late partner Kellie Nash.
Some of his hit songs are “Oh Sherrie”, “Foolish Heart”, “Street Talk” etc.
