Personal Life of Molly Ringwald
Ringwald was married twice in her life. Her first marriage was to Valéry Lameignère, a French writer hailing from Bordeaux, France in 1999. She met Lameignère during her difficult time of life when she had decided to quit Hollywood for a peaceful and ordinary life.
But they weren’t destined to be together and divorced in 2002 due to cruel treatment and settled it without any alimony and financial settlements.
After her divorce, she met her current husband After she met Panio Gianopoulos, a Greek-American at a bookshop and they dated for a while after that and settled their marriage in 2002.
She gave birth to their eldest daughter Matilda in 2003. She was named after her paternal grandmother. Then a few years later she gave birth to two fraternal twins of different gender in 2009.

From childhood, the Brat Pack star was inclined to acting and music. She essayed the role of “Dormouse” in “Alice in Wonderland” which was produced by a local stage production when she was just five.
Her parents were very supportive of her talents and naturally encouraged her to groom her talents. Her father with his band helped her record her first jazz album at the age of six “I Wanna Be Loved By You”.
Her acting career started with playing small roles in TV series like Different Shades and The Facts of Life in 1979-80 which allowed her to delve into the acting industry step by step. Her first big break came in the 1982 film “Tempest” as Mirinda Dimitrius.
With this big break, she went to play in teen angst movies like Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and The Breakfast Club making her stand in limelight and establishing her as Hughes’s muse in the entertainment industry.
During the early 80s, she had performed as a lead vocalist for Disney albums like ‘Yankee Doodle Mickey’ and ‘Disney’s Christmas Album.’ while her acting career was going a bit slow.
She was a brave and bold woman who liked to play many characters and explore something beyond their roles such as Darcy Elliot in For Keeps and Randy Jackson in The Pick-Up Artist, which were commercial hits and helped a lot in developing her acting.
Her career was smooth sailing at that time but she was dissatisfied with the projects and left Hollywood for a while to study French and acted in a few French movies and TV shows. Her acting and singing had won millions of French people’s hearts.
After her return from France, she acted in “Stand”, a TV adaptation of Stephen King’s life story. In the 1990s, she was very much active in the American TV industry and played in works like Townies, Malicious, Since You’ve Been Gone, and How I Learned to Drive.

She went on to write a memoir called “Getting the Pretty Back: Friendship, Family, and Finding the Perfect Lipstick” in 2010 and published a book with the title “When it Happens to You: A Novel in Stories” in 2012. Besides being an author, she wrote essays for The New Yorker and The Guardian.
After being away from on-screen, she came back to screen to work in ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’, King Cobra, Riverdale, Raising Expectations, Siberia, Kissing Booth, etc. In 2013, she released her second jazz album ‘Except Sometimes.’, which peaked at number seven on the Jazz Albums chart.
