He was married to Emma Potner in 2018 but soon divorced in 2021. He was born as a female at birth but came out as a trans man in 2020 on social media, supported wholeheartedly by his ex-wife.

Elliot Page started his career as a child actor in the role of Maggie Maclean in Pit Pony, a CBC TV series in the late 1990s. The show ran for three years and gained Elliot a nomination for Young Artist Award. He took a short break of two years after this to focus on his studies.

Her returning role on the screen was Joanie in Marion Bridge, which was released in 2002. This role brought Page the recognition he needed as a rising star in the industry. Page went on to star in TV series like Trailer Park Boys, Homeless To Harvard: The Liz Murray Story, Ghost Cat, Wilby Wonderful, The Simpsons, Going for Broke, and Regenesis in the first decade of working years in Television.
