Personal Life of Maury Povich
Povich’s first marriage was with Phyllis Minkoff from 1962 to 1979. Povich & Phyllis have two daughters Susan Anne and Amy Joyce Povich.
Povich met the famous Asian-American news anchor Connie Chung in WTTG while working & tied knots with her in 1984. They adopted their son Matthew Jay Povich in 1994.
Talking about his hobbies he has been a keen golf player since he was a kid & still pursues it enthusiastically. Once in 2000 Maury participated in the U.S. Senior Amateur championship but didn’t win any trophy. He was featured in Golf Digest’s top 100 golfers in 2007.

Maury’s career in the television industry began soon after he graduated from his college. His first job was that of a reporter & a person who does publicity.
His journey as a host began way back in 1967 when he got an opportunity to co-host the station’s popular midday talk show Panorama in Washington, D.C… This show made him a household name & gave him nationwide recognition.
After he left his hometown Washington in 1976 he started doing a couple of high-profile but short-lived television jobs.
He co-anchored & co-hosted many news shows in his career. He also co-anchored CBS-owned KNXT in Los Angeles with his wife Connie Chung for six months.
In April 1980 Povich anchored some newscasts & hosted a midday audience participation talk show for three years on KYW-TV in Philadelphia.
After attaining success in his endeavors outside of his hometown he returned to Washington in June 1983 & started to host the show Panorama with which he began his career in the mainstream media.
In 1986, the newly established Fox Television station group hired Povich to host A Current Affair. This show was known for its coverage of a variety of topics ranging from celebrity gossip to many human-interest stories. In 1990 Povich left this Show to kick-start his show in 1991 which no one thought would run till 2022.
