Kapil married Ginni Chatrath on 12 December 2018. He made Ginni in 2005 when he went to direct a play at Ginni’s college. Ginni helped him direct the play to girls as Kapil had a problem explaining the female roles. She also brought him food whenever he got hungry after a long day.
