Henry Winkler was born to mother, Isle Anna Maria Hadra, and father, Harry Irving Winkler, in the New York City. Both his parents are German Jewish from Berlin, who escaped to find refuge in the US in the year 1939.
He has a sister named Beatrice and is a cousin to the famous Actor, Writer, and Producer, Richard Belzer.
Henry is a happily married man. His wife, Stacey Winkler, and he have been married since 1978, and they have kept their wedding vows of being together through thick and thin, ever since.
They have raised three children together – Jed Weitzman, Zoe Winkler, and Max Winkler. Jed is Stacey’s son from her previous marriage, who has been cherished by Henry.

He started acting when he was still in school. His very first role was in the play ‘Billy Budd’ when he was an eighth-grade student.
Before getting any substantial role, he was part of several commercials and even acted in theatres for free. His very first television job where he earned something was as an extra in a game show, for which he was paid $10.
The major role that first gave him the name and fame was that of Arthur ‘Fonzie’ Fonzarelli, in the show ‘Happy Days’. It started with ‘Fonzie’ being a very minor character but with the love that it received from the audience, Henry went ahead to play the role for ten whole years.
He has been part of many other notable series and movies such as Scream, The Waterboy, Teen Titans Go, Guardians of the Galaxy, and much more. During the 1980s, he took a little time apart from acting.
