Billy Joel Personal Life
Both of Joel’s parents shared German and British ancestry respectively. His father Howard Joel was a German-born Jewish man who immigrated to New York during World War II and met his first wife Rosalind Nyman, another fellow European from England in a performance at City College, New York.
They had Billy and his sister Julie together but his father divorced his mother in 1957 because the atmosphere and environment didn’t suit his father’s expectations and he moved back to Europe. Since then he was raised by his mother.
Coming to Billy Joel’s love life been the face of entertainment news for decades regarding it. He and his first wife Elizabeth Weber Small got together in 1973. She had been the inspiration for many of his songs at the beginning of his career but their relationship took a rocky turn in the later years of their life and they ended their marriage in 1982.
Moving on from Weber, he got a chance to meet his second wife Christie Brinkley at a yacht party in 1984. They had a daughter named Alexa Ray Joel together and they suddenly divorced in 1992 but remained friends till now.
