Personal Life of Adam Jones

Jones’s mother had lovingly given him the nickname of “Pacman”(after the character you all used to watch on TV……Pac-Man….miss those days!). His nickname has been used more than his real one. (His real name caused him so much trouble that he had to drop it…..)

In the summer of 2014, Adam exchanged vows with Tishana Holmes. The couple has brought three beautiful kids into this world. Adam has been a very loving and doting father to his kids

Adam has done the noble work of adopting the children of his long-time friend, Chris Henry, after his death.

Career of Adam Jones

Majoring in Athletic Coaching Education and being a member of the Athletic Director’s Academy, Adam has been a prolific player right from his freshman year. Against the infamous team of Boston College, Jones racked up two touchdowns, an amazing 87-yard kick return, and a 47-yard inception return. Adam made a then career-high score against Miami.

During his junior year in college, he was named the second captain and he ushered his team into tackles and interceptions. Adam earned the title of First-Team-All-Big East (as a defensive back) and gained a venerable mention All-American. He finished his college career with a punt return for a touchdown.

Adam went to become one of the highest West Virginia players drafted. He played in #9 while in college.

Adam made himself available and entitled to the NFL Draft at the cost of his senior year. Picked up at sixth overall, Adam became the first defensive player drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Adam started his games as a cornerback, something that he specializes in. Adam’s sophomore season saw him put some amazing numbers on the board and his three-punt return touchdown tied the record of the franchise to the legendary Billy “White Shoes” Johnson in 1975. In the subsequent games, Adam kept the audience on their toes with his flair and completed with 259 return yards along a punt return score.

Although his on-field game was on point, Adam was involved in a lot of off-field problems during this time. This led him to be on a one-year suspension as his actions went against the NFL player conduct policy. Adam promised to gain the trust of his teammates and his fans. During this time, Adam went to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship. However, his professional life was still in turmoil. It was reported that Jones may not be put back into the team after the 2008 Pro Bowl.

In 2008, Adam was handed over to the Dallas Cowboys.

Adam has agreed to pay a handsome amount of $500,000to a charity of the Titans’ choice. Dallas made him sign a four-year contract which promised Dallas protection in case Adam made any more nuisance off the field. Around June of 2008, Jones started practicing with the Cowboys and was fully taken back for the 2008 NFL season. October brought in more suspension for Adam and December marked a severe neck injury which did not hinder him from playing the final game of the season for the Cowboys. During this time Adam was the rumored suspect of another fiasco, a shooting outside a club back in 2007. This led the Cowboys to release Jones.

Luck did not favor him as he signed a one-year deal with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2009. They dropped him over his rather controversial remark that had surfaced online

Adam landed a 2-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010 and made his debut in September 2010. October 2010 saw Adam sustain a severe neck injury and he missed the rest of the season. In 2013 his deal was extended to three more years.

But he soon ran out of luck in 2015 as he got into a squabble with the coach of the opponent team, leading to the creation of the “Joey Porter Rule” which forbids assistant coaches from entering the field (he got a whole rule named after him!). Adam was suspended(again) on his first game of 2017 and the Bengals finally released him in 2018.

Adam signed with the Denver Broncos in 2018 and played seven games with them before being released.

The announcement of his retirement was made known to the world on May 24th, 2019.
