Personal Life of Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj’s father has always had a major role in his upbringing. He nurtured the passion for cricket in Yuvraj and the rest is history.
Yuvraj got diagnosed with cancer in 2011. But he bounced back in just a year, stronger than ever.
He got married to actress Hazel Keech in 2016. Together they have a son, whose name isn’t revealed yet in January 2022.
Career of Yuvraj Singh
He won a medal in the Nationals for roller skating at the age of 10. His cricket career officially began in 1995, when he competed in Punjab Under 16 competition at the age of 13.
His official Ranji debut was in 1997. He went on to play in the Cooch Behar Trophy tournament, participated in the Srilanka Trophy, as well as an ODI, he eventually went on to play in the Under 19 Cricket World Cup where he was officially selected for the Nationals due to his immaculate performance.
He debuted internationally with the 2000 Knockout Trophy, in an India versus Kenya match. He went on to play in a lot of matches after which he again returned to the Ranji trophy.
He then went for the Coca Cola Cup which was held in Sri Lanka. He was again scouted for the upcoming 2 ODIs. He participated in the NatWest series, played in stadiums like Lords, played in the ICC champions trophy in 2002, played for the World Cup as well as became a constant in all ODIs.
Scoring centuries after centuries in ODIs, playing in the Videocon cup, the Indian Oil Cup of 2005, world tours, etc, he was finally named the Vice-Captain in the T-20 held in South Africa.
However, he got a minor injury at that time. But he had a speedy recovery and was back in form to participate and lead again. He was dropped from the team after certain issues and participated in the World Cup in 2011, being named as one of the most exemplary players in its history.
However, things took a turn when he got terminally ill. After a diagnosis, it was found out that he had an abnormal tumor growth which was malignant in nature.
He received chemotherapy sessions in Boston after it was detected in 2011 due to his symptoms like vomiting blood, extreme nausea, weakness, etc.
However, in one year, he recovered and became a part of the T-20 in 2012. He went on to play in a lot of matches for just 2 years.
After dedicating decades of his life to cricket, he retired from the international arena, after playing around 400+ games internationally. He was however involved in the Indian Premier League ever since 2009 and continued to do so.
Initially, he was a part of the all-rounder team Kings XI Punjab, where he played as the Captain. He eventually went on to become a part of teams like Pune Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians.
He has recently been a part of the Ultimate Kricket Challenge. He has been the brand ambassador for brands like Puma, Microsoft, Ulysse Nardin, etc.
He started his charity named YouWeCan, a charitable organization for cancer patients.
