Jim Shockey Personal Life

Jim Shockey had married Louise Shockey, whom he met while venturing into showbiz business, and had two children Branlin and Eva together.

His children joined him in the showbiz and hunting business and helped him out often with shooting and other work.

Jim Shockey Career

Jim Shockey started his career as a construction worker for Andre Molnar, with whom his path crossed while he was still in water polo. From childhood onwards, he was a business-minded guy who had grand plans for his future. He tried his luck at construction which didn’t work out and switched to antique and collectibles stores.

His store specializes in ethnocentric folk art spread over Western Canada and sometimes produced furniture whose woods are from the Prairies, and crafted by Ukrainian and Mennonite craftsmen, with some paintings and other kinds of stuff he offered. He is considered one of the world’s foremost experts on the Ethnocentric Folk Art forms from Western Canada.

Around this time, he started writing for Bowbender magazine in his free time and shared his adventures most of the time. His antique store business was booming and it expanded to Vancouver with four outlets across the country.

With the success of his store and writing, he expanded his reach to the TV industry which involved outdoor activities and got featured on ESPN and TNN. Around this time, writing has become a daily part of his life. He wanted to explore more and quit sitting near the desk. 

He switched to storytelling through the camera and shared his explorations differently. The market of storytelling through cameras was booming and he decided to join the bandwagon from there and earned attention from the media.

He traveled across 50 countries on the six continents of the world and filmed his adventures on Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures and Jim Shockey’s Uncharted on Outdoor Channel.

He is also a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces with the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 4th Ranger Patrol Group. Currently, he is the brand ambassador for Leupold Optics, Stealth Cam, Nosler, Benjamin, Yeti Coolers, Christensen Arms, and a partner of Bowtech.
